Terms of Service
Last updated: April 8, 2026
By using DevPry ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the tools.
What DevPry Provides
DevPry offers free, browser-based developer tools for tasks like encoding, decoding, formatting, and analyzing text and code. Most tools run entirely in your browser. Some tools use third-party APIs (OpenAI, Google) to provide AI-powered functionality.
Use of the Service
Acceptable Use
You may use our tools for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Use the tools to violate any laws or regulations
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the service
- Use automated tools to overload our infrastructure
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use the tools to process illegal content
Rate Limits
AI-powered tools (Token Counter, Prompt Debugger) have rate limits to prevent abuse. Excessive usage may result in temporary blocks. These are free tools — please use them reasonably.
No Warranty
The tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to make them accurate and reliable, but we can't guarantee:
- 100% uptime or availability
- Accuracy of results (token counts, hash generation, etc.)
- Fitness for your specific use case
- That the service will meet your requirements
Always verify critical results. Don't rely solely on these tools for production systems, security decisions, or situations where errors could cause harm.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DevPry and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the tools, including:
- Incorrect results leading to bad decisions
- API costs from miscalculated token counts
- Data loss or corruption
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Third-party API issues (OpenAI, Google outages)
You use these tools at your own risk. We're not responsible for any consequences of using them.
Third-Party Services
Some tools rely on third-party APIs (OpenAI, Google Gemini). These services have their own terms and privacy policies:
We're not responsible for how these third parties handle your data or enforce their terms. By using AI-powered tools, you agree to their terms as well.
Intellectual Property
DevPry's code, design, and content are owned by its operators. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission. The output you generate using our tools (formatted JSON, decoded tokens, etc.) is yours to use however you like.
Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data. Short version: most tools process everything client-side. AI tools send data to third-party APIs. We don't store or log what you paste.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
Termination
We can shut down or restrict access to any tool at any time, for any reason, without notice. Since there are no user accounts, "termination" just means the tool stops being available.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where DevPry operates. Any disputes will be resolved in courts in that jurisdiction.
